Minutes: 07/02/2001

July 2, 2001 , 7:00 PM at 1029 Meadow Breeze Lane, Sarasota, FL 34240

Due to the announced delay in arrival of Bill Detra, the meeting start was delayed until 7:20 pm.

Bill Detra, Vice President opened the meeting. Present were Bill Detra, Connie Meadows and John Finlay. Bill Detra announced that a written resignation from the Board had been received from Cliff Cross, and that the purpose of this meeting was to appoint a replacement as called for in the by laws. Also, he reported that Steve Zadirakas had orally given his resignation that evening, making two vacancies on the board.

Brian King and Ray Morrison have indicated their willingness to serve. Bill Detra extended an invitation to all homeowners present at the meeting to submit their names for consideration if they were interested in serving. No one replied. On a motion by Connie Meadows, seconded by John Finlay, the names of Brian King and Ray Morrison were submitted for consideration. They were unanimously elected.

Bill Detra agreed to move up the position of President. Brian King was elected Vice President.

Bill Detra permitted questions and discussions from the attending homeowners. After answering questions, he stressed that the Board is committed to following the rules and regulations and guidelines as required by the by laws. Any guidelines and/or rules and regulations can be changed, but major changes should be voted upon by the full membership of the homeowners association by a 66% majority in order to be effected.

Although some homeowners were not aware of the full extent of the deed restrictions when purchasing their home, others fully researched the restrictions and based their purchase on the basis of the restrictions in force.

Vivia Martin offered to distribute mail to homeowners to save postage. Eddie Martin offered to look into creating a web site for the association on which minutes, rules and regulations and the like can be posted.

Brian King will take oversight for the mowing and landscaping services; Ray Morrison will take oversight for the irrigation system.

There being no other agenda item for this special meeting, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled for Monday, July 30 at 7:00 pm at 1029 Meadow Breeze Lane.
